Time for a Chuck, Time for a Giveaway

Michael Kline

I made this chuck,

to trim these bottles,

and thought to myself,

let's have a giveaway,

give away another twenty bucks work of pottery!

The giveaway has nothing to do with "Chuck", whoever that is. Let me explain.
Every once in a while I like to give back to my readers and decided that a giveaway would be a fun way to say thank you! To make sure I reward those of you current, ever faithful readers, I came up with the "leave a comment" contest.

Just leave a comment and you will qualify to win a $20 gift certificate that can be redeemed at my Etsy shop or here at the pottery if you happen to be visiting. (Full details will be divulged if you are a winner.) Then we'll get Evelyn to do the honors of a random drawing over the weekend.

So, just say "Hi", or "Who's Chuck?", or whatever, and you may join our pottery winners circle! Let me know if you are having trouble logging into the Disqus commenting system by emailing me here.

Stay tuned and good luck!

Black, White, Blue, & Gold

The painting has begun for my wood kiln firing! But these are not those...

In the previous post I had a web cam shot of the blue and white swirl yunomi with gold lustre. I spent a fair amount of futile time trying to photograph these pots and others. Shooting pictures for the blog is one thing. Having crisp color correct images for publication and print is a whole other thing. Maybe it's time to hire these out. Anyway, here, for your perusal...

In other news, the drawing for the gift certificate will happen this afternoon after my daughters come home from school, have a snack, and are prepped by the L' Oréal makeup team. So come back this evening a see the drawing video!

For Jenny: a beautiful piece that we saw in the "rotunda" of the
National Museum of the American Indian.
Sorry I don't have any more info about it origins, etc.

We're back from our mini vacation in Washington, D.C. and it's always great to be home. The grass has grown with all the rain and sunshine the past few days, and the green from Spring is spectacular.

I'm getting realigned for pottery making, today, and firing later this month.

I'm also dreaming up a pottery give-away for this week, so stay in touch.

Oh, and here's the link to the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian that I mentioned in the caption above.
